Let's go hunt rainbows
This poem is a celebration wet weather and rainbows. I was driving home when I had just started planning this series of paintings and was amazed to see the end of a rainbow - it was very bright and ended in a field - but was not in a suitable spot to stop...
My inspirations were too many days wishing the rain would stop - then just putting on raincoats and wellies, grabbing a brolly and going to splash through the puddles.
The verses are illustrated by my gouache paintings.
![]() Today is wet, rain just pours. Time to get out of doors. | ![]() Sink or float, make some spray. Bubbles rising as we play. |
---|---|
![]() Water runs around our shoes. Making mud squelch and ooze. | ![]() Red, green, blue and indigo. Use leaves to make a rainbow. |
![]() Water fountain droplet sprays. Splits the colour many ways. | ![]() Put your coat on, off we go. Let's look out for a rainbow. |
