Let's go hunt rainbows

This poem is a celebration wet weather and rainbows. I was driving home when I had just started planning this series of paintings and was amazed to see the end of a rainbow - it was very bright and ended in a field - but was not in a suitable spot to stop...

My inspirations were too many days wishing the rain would stop - then just putting on raincoats and wellies, grabbing a brolly and going to splash through the puddles.

The verses are illustrated by my gouache paintings.

Today is wet, rain just pours. Time to get out of doors.

Sink or float, make some spray. Bubbles rising as we play.

Water runs around our shoes. Making mud squelch and ooze.

Red, green, blue and indigo. Use leaves to make a rainbow.

Water fountain droplet sprays. Splits the colour many ways.

Rainbow end

Put your coat on, off we go. Let's look out for a rainbow.
